  • Rendered image perspective not matching viewport perspective!

That's the first time I encounter such an issue. Vray doesn't render the perspective the same way it appears in the viewport. As soon as I switch to Scanline renderer, the rendered image perspective matches that of the viewport.

I'm in the middle of an urgent job and I can't photo-match the 3D with the photo because of this problem. I'm using Physical camera and the only unusual parameter I've used is the horizontal tilt correction so this might be the key to the problem. I can provide scene to devs for troubleshooting if necessary.

Anyways, any help is highly appreciated as I need to deliver the images ASAP.

Thanks, I just checked the thread. So is this 3ds max problem? From the thread it seems to be the case. But why does it work fine with Scanline and not with Vray then?

Mental Ray and ART render the same as V-Ray. No idea why Scanline is fine.

That's bad... Just when I need to rely on a certain feature, ADSK will make my life miserable. Any tips on how to go about this problem?

Just wanted to give an update on this issue. It turns out applying a Skew modifier kind of simulates the horizontal tilt in camera and what you see in the viewport you also get in the rendering. So this seems to help for the moment. Of course, this bug still absolutely has to be fixed. I submitted some bug reports to ADSK, now let's see how many releases before it's fixed...

Yeah, it's good to know... I think we can at least fix it for the original V-Ray camera. For the physical camera, it will be up to Autodesk to fix the viewport.

You can use a Skew Modifier to do the same thing and it should match between render and viewport.
