  • Infinity Mirror HELP!

    Hi all,

I am trying to do a LED mirror with infinity lighting going in there. However, it came out not well and could make more LED going. I have set my max depth of reflection and refraction to 1000 already. Is there any trick to so this?

Set the "cutoff" option in your materials to 0.0 as well.

Not that I can think of right now (except if the global depth is overridden in the V-Ray settings). It would be useful if you can post just that part of the scene so that we can take a look. Or else email it to support@chaosgroup.com

I was thinking about the global depth too. But I can't find where to edit that, should it be edited in the preference?

          Thanks!

Go to the Render Setup window, Click on the "V-Ray" tab, then in the "Global switches" rollout, switch to Advanced view and find the "Override depth" checkbox.

It's pretty well hidden so it should be hard to enable it and mess things up in the first place, but one never knows...

I checked but the global depth wasn't overrided. And I tried to override it with max depth to 1000 but that didn't work too.
              But thanks anyway

Ok. Then we'll need the scene.

Is the reflective pane in front of it just a regular glass? the way the trick works is to use a one way mirror. Should work fine with the right material setup

Just as Neilg pointed out you need a one way mirror. I just did a simple example with 2 planes with a 100% reflective or Chrome material and stuck some lights in between. I only set the max depth to 100 but will work properly if you go higher.

Is it both a 100% reflective mirror? But how can it be a see through one way mirror on the front?
                            Thanks!

I tried the one way mirror, is there any more details on the process for it? cuz it just came out like having only four layers of the led.
                              thank you all!!
