  • Lens effects GPU accelerated failed

    Hi,

I am getting this error for first time while using lens effects:

warning: [LensEffectsBase::applyBloomAccelerated] GPU accelerated bloom failed. | [LensEffectsGpu::gpuConvolveBatched] GPAPI is not initialized.
warning: Error 1 during hardware accelerated lens effects calculation. Falling back to CPU. Applying lens effects might take longer than usual.

How can I fix this error? Thanks!

    Best,
    Nikola

I fixed it. It was the graphic driver , I reinstalled and it works smooth now.

          Revert the driver?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

I'm getting the same error as Bobby with Beta 2 when using lens fx. However, right after the GPAPI error appears the following line appears in the log - "GPAPI initialized successfully" and then every time I adjust the lens fx I get "Selected device: GeForce GTX 1080Ti" and also "Hardware accelerated glare/bloom completed.". So it seems to be working fine right after the error appears. I don't remember seeing this GPAPI error with the official 3.6 release. My GPU drivers version is 390.77. Is it fine to continue using them or should I install another version?

Go back to 388 or update to 391. We have reports that 390 are not stable at all (for rendering and post effects).
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

                  Hi Everyone

I am so very new to V-ray and it seems that I bought the wrong laptop (see specification on picture attached) to be able to run it properly as I am getting the same error message: "Error 1 during hardware accelerated lens effect calculation. Falling back to CPU."
The quality of rendering I am getting is very hazy, even after I do post-production adjustments, use lighting, etc. (see next picture).
Can anyone help whether there are anythink I can buy to make my laptop perform better?

                  Thank you so much. Henrieta
