Just happened twice on two high res renders in around 12000px width while calculating the bloom and glare. I have the minidump for vray.exe and 3dsmax.
Does this help?
More details are needed - at least OS version, GPU types, CPU type, V-Ray version, drivers version and if the problem persist when the hardware accelerated option is off.
Even though V-Ray does its best to fallback to CPU, if for example the drivers/OS/Max/etc are crashing, there is not much that we can do.
Oliver, Slightly off topic, but is there a reason you're not running the latest SP's for 2017 ? We're on to SP2 and whilst no guarantee it would fix or is even related to your problem, that was what caught my attention and might help ?

I am having the same issue.
I am rendering 6x1 cube maps for VRs and they crash after they finish rendering which is not ideal when they take 4 hours to render!
My driver version is 372.90 but I will try the newer one to see if it solves the issue
Tried this in 3.6 and with driver 376.09
So far no crashes, the lens effects are falling back to CPU mode because of missing VRAM. Will keep you updated if this really solved the problem.
