  • Rendering translucent object

I have a scene setup that has a background image in the environment map, and when I render, one group of objects is translucent and you can see the background through them. I've check the opacity on the materials and it's not translucent, I've checked the refraction on the materials, and that's black, and then I checked the objects' opacity and that is set to 1.0. I even added a brand new material to the objects and it's still translucent. Is there anything else that is effecting the objects' opacity and allowing the background to render through? I can't think of anything else.

There are other objects and groups in the scene, and they aren't being effected like this.

If this helps: I removed the environment map, and made it a solid red color. The background shows through again. The odd part, is that there are internal objects that aren't being shown through the outer shell, so it has something to do with the background being shown through the object. But it's ONLY this one that's doing it.

is there a visibility track on it? there is a separate opacity map option in the material its self that may be the cause but hard to say without seeing it.

Are the objects reflective? and your environment map set to "screen"?

I turned the reflection off and it still happened, Turns out it was part of the GI. The GI was including the screen environment background image. The only way to fix it was to exclude the object from the GI calcs.
