  • Lens Effects causing edge artifacts with background image enabled in VFB

    Hey,
please take a look at the attached images. When the Lens Effects are enabled, I can see these strange edges around my objects when the background image in the VFB is enabled. When I disable the Lens Effects, the artifacts dissappear. Any idea what might be causing this?

I don't think that Lens Effects are optimized to work with Background Image yet.
From what I can see Lens Effects are not applied to the background image, instead the image overrides them and this might cause that artifacts.

In my tests I couldn't replicate that exactly but I think it happens cause Lens doesn't know how to blend the effect between the render and the Background image.
Will add a note about that into our system.

If possible, please send that part of the scene for investigation.
Thank you very much in advance.

      Hi!
Are there any improvements on that matter?
There is another thread by Jonas Noell which basically is the same issue.

Yes. You need to put the Background layer before the Lens effects in Composite (Source mode).
