I don't know if it is me or just the way it is, but things just don't respond smoothly. I use IPR in its default mode, for the most part. While the FB is rendering and I pick something in the VP and I get the Not Responding for 10+ seconds. Starting a render takes 30+ seconds and stop is about the same. These seconds add up quickly and it is a pain. Am I expecting too much or should this not be happening? I have WIndows 10, MAX 2017, and a 1080ti.

It's heavily scene-dependant.
I was importing some 100k splines in max today, and forget the 10 seconds, i was clicking and waiting upwards of 15 minutes, so number of nodes (call them objects if you wish) has a severe influence on the max UI.
The long render start seems to point at a long loading phase (textures, referenced geometry, and so on), or perhaps a bad displacement setting in static mode.
Ofc, hey, send a scene to Support if you think it's with V-Ray.Lele

It's not a big scene and I am only talking seconds. Saving EXR's are taking several minutes. I just would expect to hit stop and the render stops or starting instantly too. I don't know, I am probably just being impatient.Bobby Parker
