  • CUDA Error 700

    Hi there,
First of all, I know that im not writing in the right forum channel but it was the only channel where i was permitted to make a new post. I didn't get the "new post" button anywhere else. sorry about that. (feel free to move this topic to its right category )
Well, my big problem is that I get this error while rendering in RT mode.
Im running max 2018 latest version, Vray the latest version, and with a GTX 1080 TI graphics card.
I have also updated the driver of the GPU this evening.
Its all running on Windows 10

Its so frustrating not being able to use all the power that I have in that GPU.
Can you please please help me with this urgent problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi !

Try to downgrade to an older version of the driver, i.e. 376.33

      Hi Alexandre

      Thanks for the advice
For som reason when I try to install the driver you specified, it tries to install but eventually write, that the graphic driver could not find compatible hardware, do you know what could be the reason for that?

Seems like a driver issue. Try reinstalling with the latest driver (again), reboot and see if this helps.
Does this error happen with any scene?

          Hi Blago

I just installed the latest driver, No geforce experience and all that jazz, just plain driver, rebooted and tried again with same scene.
Then it came up with the warnings you see on photo 1 and 2.
Then I tested it on another but super simple scene and it came up with a different warning string. as you see on image 3.
          This is sooo weird...
really hope you can help me out here...

I have just tested my GPU with GPUz and its looks fine in all the specs.

The warnings in the simple scene are not to worry - they just mention things from Adv that are not supported in GPU.
It might be a V-Ray GPU bug. Can you send the scene so we can check it?

            Best,
            Blago.

It will be the best if you can mail it to our QA Max team so they can check it. You can mail peter.matanov@chaosgroup.com and me blagovest.taskov@chaosgroup.com. It will be nice if you can add link to this thread in the mail. Thanks!

We haven't. During weekends we have far less people in the office.

It's reproducible here, I've logged it in our bug tracking system.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done
