  • VrayLight simple mode portals cause matte object self shadowing

    Hi,

it appears that VrayLight in simple portal mode causes matte object self-shadowing, so that matte objects cast shadows onto other matte objects, which should never happen. I found this out just now because I need to composite some elements into already rendered CG interior scene. Curiously enough, the self-shadowing disappears as soon as GI amount is set to 0.0 in the V-Ray object properties, as if Simple mode portals generated some GI emission. Hopefully this can be fixed.

    Thanks

My goal is to remove the need for portal lights completely in future V-Ray builds.

That's nice indeed, however I still need to figure some workaround with the current build

I will have to figure something out.
