Why such a wonky way to fillet? Is it a MAX thing or am I doing something wrong?

I'll get that sometimes on a weird point that has a weird bezier tangent(?). I'll select the vertice and 'reset tangets', then choose 'corner', and fillet again.Brendan Coyle | www.brendancoyle.com

Check the vertices that connect to those that are acting weird, if those are bezier corners with different handle length the fillets will have different curvature. I usually select all the spline vertices and convert to corner before filleting to avoid this.
