  • Bump/Normal Disappears on GI Pass

    Hi,

Using VRay 3.60.03. If GI is on the effect nearly disappears or does completely at times.. is this a known issue?

    thx

Could you share with us an example pics or perhaps a tests scene?

      Hi,

Here is a test scene. By default GI is turned off, and the bump map is still only slightly visible. But when GI is turned on it is mostly gone.

      thx

Sorry for the late response. I will try to reproduce the issue later today and will write here my results.

I managed to take a look at your example scene, but I don't see any unexpected behaviour. In your case it is normal to see less of the bump when GI is on, because you are using dome light, and the bump surface is illuminated from all directions.

OK thanks for looking. I thought the bump effect was pretty weak even tho I had it turned up an insane amount & GI off. Perhaps using a VRaySun might work better? I need to simulate tracks on a beach.
