  • glass alpha cutting through solid object

    Hey people, i'm struggling to find a solution to this vray render. I've got some glass pieces in front of a biped that i need to comp on a animating bg. Problem is the Vraymat, even with affect colour & alpha on, is cutting through the biped's solid alpha:

    Do you have reflections also set to affect the alpha in your V-Ray glass material ?

          nope, sorry.

          Its really wierd, i would expect the alpha to be solid when it is in front of another solid object.

            Alright, if you just have the refraction and affect color +alpha the result can be weird in some occasions indeed and this is because all refraction rays are traced until they hit an object or environment. Due to the bouncing rays for refraction colculations you can get a solid white alpha in some areas and black to gray for others.
