  • noise map giving diferent output renders

    Hello!

I have a problem with the noise map 3ds max node. When I render a simple noise map linked to the difuse channel I am getting different results when rendering with Vray.Rt (CPU) or Vray.Edu. It looks like it reads the procedural noise map in a diferent way depending of the render engine. It happens also in other channels of the material.

    I am using 3ds max 2018 and vray 3.6

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? or what I am not understanding?
    thank you!

This is actually normal, 3ds max noise map always renders differently in different render engines.
If you want to achieve the same pattern I can recommend you to try V-Ray NEXT BETA and instead of 3ds max noise map use VRayPlginNodeTex and choose Plugin type TexNoise.

If the image is not enough self-explainable, just tell me and I will try to explain in more detail.

The image is perfect, but I do not have that node "Vraypluginnodetex" on my Vray maps section in material editor, here leave you an image

Can this be because I am using an educational licence??

            thank you!

No, actually this is because like I said in my previous post, VRayPlginNodeTex can be found in V-Ray NEXT BETA. But I guess you still use V-Ray 3.6.

What sorcery is this VRayPluginNodeTex? Is all that stuff included by default or do you have to install and have a license of the various VRay plugins for different engines and such?
