  • Include light in "Reflection exclusion" of Trace Sets

    Can not include a light (VRayLight and 3dsMax's Lights) in "Reflection exclusion" of Trace Sets ?

    This is useful when you want to control highlights on the object side.

    I hope for this function.

    On a personal note, I would never use 3DSMax lights even though it is possible... for me it's as bad as using 3dsMax standard materials.

      Of course.

      Why does the default light work on V-Ray?

      The best idea is not to force the workflow to the user.

        The include/exclude dialog is a 3ds max thing and it supports only geometry as picking objects. We have no control there. You can always override the list through maxscript.
        If it was that easy, it would have already been done

          Thank you for info.

          I confirmed that VRayLight can be excluded from reflection by directly changing vrscene.

          reflection_exclude=List(
          VRayLight001@light_3
          );

          However, can not exclude 3ds Max lights. I understand the reason.

          Warnings: plugin Spot001@light_4 of type LightSpotMax cannot be in the exclude list (does not have geometry)
          but,
          HGlossness deleted in NEXT, Is there a way to disable highlights from the 3ds Max light on the object/material side?
          (Other than setting hidden HGlossness with MAXScript.)
