  • VRay Fog Light Contribution

    Hi guys,

It's been a while! Is it possible or would it be possible to add more control for VRay fog? I used Redshift on a project last year and it was so incredibly easy to get great looking atmospherics quickly, partly because there was easier control on a per light basis. You can dial in the contribution each light has to the fog. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EF-PYj-Lm8

On a side note - can anyone create something like (the attached) in the render without using any compositing tools? I can't seem to get the definition in the rays.

    Cheers,

    Max

Yes you can achieve the same looking god rays effect in Vray

I would love this as well. Its too fiddly currently and a per light override would help so much. Love redshift for this and handling of VDBs and volumetrics

Just creat the environment fog, place the light outside the windows and render, you may need to adjust the settings to your specific scene scale .

I've done so many projects with VRayFog lately and it's always a pain in the arse, would really love more control like Redshift, an individual fog light contribution setting - please!

Sounds useful, will add it in the list.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Any updates on the possibility of this being added? (apologies if this has been added and I haven't been keeping up to date)

I'm still using fog in a lot of projects and still finding it very difficult to get the results I want easily.

Yes, it will be added and with a little luck, you'll see it in the next Update later this year.
