  • Exclude alpha/Z-depth/REs from Aerial Perspective

    Yes hello there,

I often have to render separate masks, or just do the whole render again with aerial perspective turned off in order to get a Z-depth and alpha pass that is not affected by the aerial perspective. Hugh waste of time and a pita.
Can we please have an option in all affected render elements to be able to stop this behaviour? (Vray Next)

    Cheers,

Thanks for the suggestion. I've logged it as an improvement request (bug-tracker id: VMAX-9793) for developer analysis. It may take some time for its implementation.

Do you think that there is a point of making this option per element rather than a global one in each of the environment effects?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

I suppose that would be more flexible and in my case a per-element option would work perfectly.

            Can you describe your case?

btw by "global" I meant it would affect only utility REs (Zdepth, alpha, cryptomatte..)
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

My case is that I want utility REs unaffected by atmospherics, but a VRayAtmosphere element as it functions currently.
As it stands now I have to render twice to get the results I need.
