wow! looks great. been looking forward to realtime rendering for a while. nice how technology advances and grows.
i like the 'motion blur' effect on the video. if Vray standalone has this feature i'm looking forward to it in anicipation.

i think this update will be very VERY interesting with the vrayspherefade process... We can see quickly where the shadows goes, reflections etc for animated objects... Simply fantastic (but it's maybe possible to have the same update that there is in max2008 for MR?... like the shadow in the viewport...)

The shadows in the viewport specifically are not in any way related to mental ray; they work fine with any 3ds Max lights and materials, including V-Ray lights and V-Ray materials.

                  Best regards,
                  Vlado

                        This is great news !
I was wondering if -from the user point of view- this would be done like in Modo, where the preview is progressively refined and becomes smoother and smoother, provided you don't play with the scene for a few seconds.

I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to say that the render preview in modo is one of my favorite features of that program and hope the Vray Render Preview is similar to this.

Any chance of a timescale on when we are likely to see this? or at least get to see a demonstration of this in action within max?

                          Regards

You will be able to see this in action really soon

In any case i think youtube had the user meeting video (very bad quality, of course) of it in action.
