tbh it's easier and more flexible to add such things in post, but I see Your point here - to have bloom effects in v-ray that are physically correct would be awesome!
+1, definatelythe purpose of a ninja is to flip out and kill people.
the purpose of an architect is to flip out and design for people.

glare and bloom is a very interesting thing indeed. I see the use for it in archviz scenarios where user does not do much of post processing/comp.
However for live action, this is mostly undesirable.
Still it makes a very nice visual look. I would vote for it to be added. Better have it and not use it, then not have it and need it.Dmitry Vinnik

bloom definitelly as a separate pass
vlado:
each render names its tools differently i guess...so 2d displacement = micropoly displacement if i get u right...
btw...have been browsing the gallery on fryrendrer pages...think they lack the "wow" effect....its just nothing that vray cannot do or wont be able to do in near future...
however i think the era of such renderers is yet to come once we start running decacores and above ))))

yep i agree too. i'm doing a lounge-scene with many lights and a slight glare/bloom from the bulbs would give the point on the i.
of course i may do it in post, but that's another step in the workflow that could be done in 3D with just a few clicks.

whishlist
The whishlist is growing...
1.Tonemapping
2.Multilight
3.Physical Materials
4.Proper emitters
Best thing is if someone from Chaosgroup will tell us what will be done, what can be done (of course), and when... Or they can keep us informed with a newsletter... Just an idea.
Ciao
Marco
