  • Variable Reflectivity Improvement in VrayMtl.

I think it would be helpful if there were an option to vary the reflectivity of refractive objects by the amount of light passing through them. IE If you look out a glass window in the day, you can see right through it. Look out at night and it's almost a mirror.

This happens simply because in the day, the outside world is usually many times brighter than the inside. At night all this turns, and the inside becomes brighter. The glass won't change it's optical properties during the day. :P

If you set your glass shader up somewhat correctly, and set your environment up also correctly in respect to the real world, the same will happen in your renders.

Like Aldaryn pointed out, this is happens not because the glass changes reflectivity in any way, but because the environment that it reflects/refract is different. So if you set up your scene accordingly, you will get the same effect.
