Not sure if this has been mentioned many times before, I did search...

Light Analysis now available with Max design and MR, would be handy for us to use with Vray as thats how the visuals of our buildings are rendered.

I've yet to use it at all to be honest, but can see it being helpful to the architects

V-Ray already supports the Lighting Analysis render elements for 3ds Max 2009 Design. In addition, there is a VRayIlluminance render element that can help you in this regard.

Yeah. I just started playing with this upon request from the higher ups. Until there's an equivalent of the light meter for Vray I'll have to stick with Mental Ray for this. LEED modeling requirements, for interior daylight analysis, require the measurements be taken at 30" off the finished floor for the entire space; the render elements don't help with this.

We already have a light meter for future builds of V-Ray; I can also get you one for the current SP4 builds if you email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com

Woot! That would be great; email sent.

Would you recommend using Brute Force primary and secondary bounces for accuracy?

The light meter creates its own copy of the V-Ray renderer with its own settings (brute force/brute force), so your actual settings don't really matter.

What happened with the light meter? Is it now part of the package?

Not yet; officially it will be a part of V-Ray 2.0

                        Best regards,
