  • Objects excluded from the reflection/refraction in Vray material

    Hi,

That would be really useful to be able to better manage the objects that are reflected and refracted by the materials.

Instead of the option in the properties of the object and make multiple rendering passes.

A list of items excluded from the reflection and a list of items excluded from the refraction would be welcome in the Vray shader.

Same for the texture of Dirt, I wish I could check "other objects only" or have a list of include / exclude.

    Thank you

As far as reflection/refraction by object, it seems like you can acomplish this with the VrayOverrideMtl. Also, the Vray Dirt texture does have an include/excude dialoge.

Ok for the dirtMap, it seems to be a new feature of Sp3 version, great.

But I always can't exclude an object from the reflection of a specific material.

Can be in VRayMtlWrapper in a future version of Vray I hope

        Another example :

I have a character with translucent eyelids.

Therefore I am obliged to exclude the eye from the refraction if I don't want to see the iris through the eyelid when he closes his eyes.
Too bad : when he puts his glasses I can not see eye with this technique, and I have to retouch my rendered frame by frame to remove the iris

If I was able to exclude an object from the refraction in my Vray material,I would have excluded the eye from the refraction in the eyelid's material but not in the glasses material.

I could also desperately use an "exclude from object's reflection" feature.

I'm working on product renders, and my reflection cards are showing up in the floor. The reflection cards are critical for interesting reflections on the model, but I can't afford to have big white boxes messing with the clean reflections of the product in the floor.

For reflection cards, I use mapped vray lights nowadays. In plane or geometry mode with
            only show in reflections ticked.
That way you can exclude objects you dont want to get reflections.

Thanks for the tip, that helps solve most of the problem.

The option to exclude certain objects from both reflection and/or refraction at the material level would be amazingly helpful. For even further control, the option to include only certain lights would also be an incredible feature.

Thank you for your support to this request which is for many people I work with one of the most important opportunity missing in Vray.

A project I made in 2 weeks with Vray.
I still the same problem: No button to exclude of reflection an object in the Vray material. Here I could not exclude invisible plates of reflection of the floor and keep them in the reflection of engine parts. Damn!

This is one of the big things I miss from Brazil.
I really hope this feature gets added.

Yes it is a very useful feature that could be added to MtlWrapper which also exists in the Raytrace material and failed me in Vray for many years !

I'm doing my 3rd job this month where this feature would have saved me a lot of time and rendering cycles. Is there any possibility of this happening?

                              Voting for this too !
And we also need an Object_exclude in the AO render-panel too
