  • Baking High Poly into Low Poly

    HI,
We want to use Flatiron with Vray for baking but we need also baking high geometry into low poly geometry, not only illum. People from Flatiron tell us that we have to wait for next version of VRay for this, because Vray 1.5 sp4 doesn´t support that.

So Vlado, have you got plans to support this feature into next versions of Vray?

    Thanks,

Yes, projection mapping will be implemented in the next build of V-Ray.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

you allready can do that by first baking your high poly complete VRay texture then using standard scanline to project mapping your high poly (backed with VRay) to your low poly.

I can advise to render the first VRay complete map to an higher resolution than the finale map you will use.

Great news, flatiron is really good, much better than RTT (commercial one), better features, under constant development, developed in production enviroment, better support, ...
