  • Vray log off by default!!

Please, Vlado, having the Vray log pop up on EVERY render until you shut it off is a royal annoyance. Can you switch it to be shut off by default?

    Anyone else agree?

    Thanks!

Should be a default max file that loads for a new scene or on max start-up. You should be able to set VRay as your renderer then make settings according to your liking then resave as the default start file.

Anyone know what the file name is off the top of your head?

I agree as well. That's always the first thing I do - switch the log window off
By the way: why are some of the lines ending with a pair of squares? (square characters, that is) Is that a bug or something? (I don't expect that it's a "feature" )

Maybe for input into a special debugger

Just make your own defaults in the maxstart.max file.. that way you won't have to turn on AA, GI, frame stamp etc either.

But I guess with the savable settings, it would be cool to be able to set one preset as the VRay default, so it would work when you change to VRay from another renderer as well.

yes. i dont want to start up with vray as default renderer.
in the modelling stage i have to work with plugin-free max files.
maxstart.max is not a real solution. there should be a way to remember default settings within the renderer.

did you know, that by actually paying atention to the info it gives, you can make adjustments to speed up your renders?

                          RErender,
Like for example..... can you share? I thought it was mainly for debugging when problems arise.

For example it helps to better undertand the cause of the overbright warnings, usualy they also means slower render times.

also you can watch the memory usage and adjust the tree/leaf size of the raycaster accordingly.
