I would really like to have the option in the light. Primary reason: workarounds add variables and this multiplies the potential for user error. There are *so* many settings that can torch a render or kill countless hours tracking down the problems they can generate. I'd strongly urge for the simplest solution if only to save me from myself

the dome light is a very handy "one stop shop" for lighting and environment GI--having to duplicate a texture into an environment slot somewhere else just to see it in the background is kind of a nuisance.. if an option is too complex, to me it makes more sense to disable alpha contribution for the dome altogether since it makes the alpha completely white anyway.
