I wish the vray true displacements were in the vray material instead of in a modifier. I believe this would make for a more intuitive workflow. This is also how max's geometric displacements work. The vray material would have an area where you check mark "true displacement". This way, all your texture attributes are found in the material editor instead of wondering whether you're using vray material displacements (which don't appear to be true displacement) and the vray displacement modifier. I think this would reduce the confusion as well.
