    Thanks, working fine now!

I've sent you another email, since this is the "Wishlist" section , would be great if we also could get the camera transformation from the Deep files into Nuke, the best way would be by setting the information as metadata on the DeepRead node, the same way OpenEXR metadata is handled in Nuke.
That way we could use the VrayCameraAttributes script from Oliver at www.fullblownimages.com that currently enables the creation of 3D cameras based on EXR metadata from VRay.

And as you are doing your own deep reader plugin, it would be nice if you could do the camera position/rotation calculation directly into the metadata, and therefor skipping the need for the Python CG kit installation.

            Hi,

Recently I had some test to create a DOF effect just with a V-Ray Deep Pixel Image in Nuke.

It is a original V-Ray Deep Pixel Image.

We can just use ZBlur Node in Nuke for V-Ray Deep Pixel Image.

And Peregrine Labs Bokeh supports Deep Data for DOF as well.

Looks like V-Ray Deep Pixel Image is working very well for DOF as well!
It is quite simple and easy, but it was not easy for me to find some information for that.

I hope it helps someone like me.
            Thank you.

              Hi Vlado,

Just wondering if there has been any updates on the .vrst deep reader, mainly render elements support and output of the camera transformation...?

Yes, they have been done since a long time.

                    Hey,

I'm currently trying to adapt Oliver's VrayCameraAttributes script for .vrst files an came up with a little problem. Trying to get width and height, to calculate the vertical aperture, via python would give me the root format instead of the format of the vrst sequence. Does the vrstRead plug-in not write those values, or is it just a nuke bug and I should rather contact the Foundry?

                    Best Regards
                    Patrick

                      Hi,

It seems that it is a Nuke limitation. Starting with Nuke 7 beta it creates 'input/width' & 'input/height' meta keys with correct values. But it still gives the root width and height for the node.

                      Regards,
                      Vasil

                        Ok, thanks,

I'll contact the Foundry support then...

Just wondering is there a reason, the transformation matrix in the .vrst metadata isn't the same(same order) as in the .exr metadata?

I think the .vrst files store the matrix as it comes out of V-Ray; but the convention for .exr files is different.

                            Best regards,

                              Hi vlado,

how is the openExr 2.0 implementation going? Can we expect a new deepWriter plugin anytime soon?

I've seen a vrst2exr.exe but since i am on linux i couldn't try it....maybe we could have a linux version of that until final openexr2.0 support?

thx & keep up the great work guys!

We'll compile vrst2exr for Linux too.

                                Best regards,
