  • point cloud view port display of VRayProxy

When point cloud data is stored in the inside of vrmesh, can't it display on a view port?

vrmesh point cloud view port display will be useful.

    Thanx

For the moment, only the geometric preview is displayed.

    Best regards,

And so, what is actually the real use of the point cloud in the proxy?

      Thanks

ForestPro and Multiscatter use the point cloud display.

Yes. They know that it is a great product.

But point cloud data is stored in VRayProxy and I think it great that it can use by the standard feature of V-Ray.

point cloud is used by the standard vray. its used for rendering, not viewport display.

so the point cloud is used for the rendering and not the actual mesh ? why that? when is that more useful ?

              Thanks

For the moment, it's not But our final goal with this is to provide a way to do automatic level of detail so that proxies that are far from the camera are rendered with less detail and RAM usage.

Hate to highjack this, but would it be possible to support rendering of XYZ ASCII pointcloud files with V-Ray? With a point size adjustment and v-ray supported shaders along with color from the XYZ file?

Edit: Whoops.. I thought I was browsing the V-Ray for Maya section.. :P
