  • camera: changing f-numer / shutter / ISO - automatic calculation

if i have exact setup of camera, i went to change f-number to get DOF i need.

this would be really great, if shutter and/or ISO will change automatically to get same result as before. for now i have to calculate this...

edit: or maybe something to lock ISO and shutter will calculate new, or inverse.

i'm pretty sure that when you half the f-stop, you double the iso & vice versa. leave the shutter speed as is.

I would check the order of that though, it's been a while, I just know you can do it with a simple half/double.

Locking the exposure is on the "to do" list.

that is correct, but if you have settings like f 3,2 - 1/35 - ISO 50 and you change f to 2,0 and want same result than you always have to calculate.

I'm pretty sure I saw a script few year back where you have different slider and you can lock off the f-number or the shutter speed and it automatically slide the other settings to match and keep the same intensity.

I will have a look and see if I can find it back.
No one else knows about this one?

It can be a good alternative in the mean time...

Why bother using exposure in the first place?
