i remember people asking for this back in 2003, but its still a basic feature that imho should be part of vray. and as far as i know, is part of almost every other renderer ( even the scanline!!) - reflect refract include/exclude lists. i can only conclude that it is somehow a difficult feature to add.
my current scene has animated objects that use the "dont use irradiance map" checkbox. they render fine. however when i get to very glossy displaced stonework in my scene, its reflecting these objects which use brute force gi, and suddenly my stonework takes a million years to render. needless to say the animated objects are not exactly visible in the slightly reflective stonework.
if i turn off "visible to reflections" for the animated objects, my renders speed up enormously, but then my animated (and highly reflective) objects dont reflect each other.
such a useful/simple thing... no?
