  • VFB Render Element option :"Use native 3dsmax output path". Please!

    Hello!

We use here a maxscripted passes system. I try hard to make it work with VFB but I still unable to force VFB to output render element in separate folder. I mean one folder per Element... We really need to output elements in separate folders.

Our passes system work fine with 3dsmax native render element path system. But I still unable as I said to make it work with VFB. Can you add an option please? An option to allow VFB to use the native element output path!

Something like : "Use 3dsmax render element paths"

With this option it will be easier to manage output.

    PLEASE!!!!!

Or if someone can help me with Maxscript. I have find a script in this thread http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...when-using-VFB. But even if the script created the sub folder correctly it did not output the files correctly. All the outputed elements get output under the same folder.

From what I know it do not seem possible to output separately VFB element because there only one output path in VFB...

Thank you again for you help.

Sorry for the late reply; unfortunately this is not easy to implement, due to the way the relevant code is written. We will make a note to look into this, but don't expect it soon. Until then, the only option is to use the 3ds Max VFB, or to do some batch processing to move the files into the correct folders after the render.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

I do something similar - use the VFB for all of my test render and as soon as I'm going to put the final passes to the farm, run a script that'll set all the paths and turns off the VFB so all the set paths get used.
