      OpenVDB can only help to bring in volumetric data from other packages (f.e. Houdini). It won't help with the actual cloud modeling or simulation.

            There is cloud rendering and then there is cloud rendering. I hope they are doing the second one.

              I'd be happy with something relatively simple like the cloud system in Lumion.
              It's fairly realistic, tweakable, and responds to the dynamic lighting well.
