  • Unlock Medit and renderer setting during rendering

    Hi Vlado,

is it possible "unlock" the Medit, Renderer setting etc... during the rendering? Like Corona?
Many times I don't remember if I turn off or on some parameter. So. I have to stop the render and see what I did.
It will be useful to have this when we are working.

    thanks.

Yes, definitely this is a limitation for the users, but i'm not sure what we can do about it.
Need to discuss it with the developers.

Unfortunately the only solution for the moment is to use RT in order to have an access to the settings during the rendering process.
"Unlock the settings during the production rendering" request should be addressed to the Autodesk developers team.

Mmm... are you sure? Corona has a renderer setting tab, material editor etc.. unlocked! And I think he doesn't have any AD support for now.

There is a reason that the UI is locked; Ondra needs it unlocked for his frame buffer to work, but he will realize that it's probably not the best of ideas.

                Best regards,
                Vlado

Yes Vlado, we have to use the Corona renderer setting cause the post-processing correction in real time (also in offline).
Ondra wants to rebuild from scratch the entire frame buffer. But I don't want to talk about Corona.
Just I found it useful to check my rendering setting and see if I forgot something.
VRay has so many parameters and it's impossible to remember every setting during the rendering process. Also for the material editor.
So, this is why my request.

I understand why it is useful - we have the same thing in Maya - but it is a big source of instability in 3ds Max, which is why we won't do it (even though technically it can be done just by commenting out a single line of code).

                    Best regards,
                    Vlado

This would be extremely useful. Very much hope you find a solution.
