    Da_elf, that'd be a great solution.

trixian, that sounds like it could be max 6 thing. Unfortunately some of us are still working in max 4, sometimes max 5 if doing work for a company with slightly more up to date kit. I live in igorance of 'render preset manager'.

I haven't even caught a glimpse of max6, running free in its native habitat yet. Although I've seen some nice pictures of it on various websites

I appreciate the helpful answers, although I'm worried this is starting to take the thread off topic. This wasn't my intention - so anyone got any other ideas/wishes for making vray 1.5 more complete?

      Some more Wishes:
Don't had the time to buld a picture but here are some Ideas.

Separated Control over Reflection/Refraction in the render globals like this:

      Reflection:....x On/Off
      .....................x Reflection Depth Spinner
      .........................x enable glossy Reflections
.........................x global glossy override + Spinner (eg.: 1.0 for no glossiness)

      Refraction....x On/Off
      ....................x Refraction Depth Spinner
      ........................x enable glossy Refractions
........................x global glossy override + Spinner (eg.: 1.0 for no glossiness)

      Separated Control over Reflection/Refraction Caustics
(Maybe also a separation of them in the new renderchannels)

A better Handling of distributed Renderslaves
Vray will make better use of distributing Tasks over multiple machines in the future. A cool Server Managing Rollout, maybe even with a Button located in the VrayVFB would be great. UI wise one could introduce the possibility to give slaves different colours or hide the "Slave Selection Brackets" (for easier Photoshop work when something has to be canceled during tight deadlines) One could implement a "rerender certain (pickable) buckets" Mode for rerendering f@cked regions. Would be cool if this would work during rendering too. (The ability to track Buckets is already there...) Sometimes some Machines render wrong... that's just my experience. If you can elliminate that istead - fine

A Renderhistory in the VrayVFB would be a fantastic Feature!
There is a script called Real Render History that does it and many other Programs have it too... Imagine Vray would safe every rendered Picture with all rendered Infos in HDR in it's internal VrayImage Format. Two Arrows in both directions - "forward" and "backward", a "delete" and a "save as" Button - That's it. We could see the progress of our Projects very easily and even play with the settings l8er on. Vray needs an own Folder in max or in the Program Files where all these pictures could go. Here Vray could safe it's presets, Imap Data, distributed & temporal Data /LogFiles as well.
      Concerning Imap...
When i work, i always setup a "working" Imap that get's safed after every calculation. When i tweak materials i just click load with the prepasted path of the imap and my rendering is much faster. Vray could do this work for me - a simple reuse Imap Button would do the Trick. (A Renderhistory for Imaps is not needed i think)

Hmmmm, that's it for today - what do you guys think?

I 100% agree with the Overides for the glossy reflections. When rendering a scene that uses alot of glossies, i have to turn all the glossies to 1, remeber or write down the original glossy number then change it back when i need a better render.
