  • Geometry Caching

    Hi,

I think RenderMan has something like a feature that stores compiled scene geometry in memory and you could for example change a material and dont have to recompile everything. Sorta like VRayRT. Any chance of getting that feature (with the tick of a checkbox) in the production renderer VRay?

Would help a lot in heavy scenes if you got enough memory.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)

Yes, it's somewhere on the "to do" list.

I think a lot of people would love it near the top of the ToDO list
      Thanks for the fast reply!
DO you think that is a VRay 4.0 feature or will we get it in 3.0?

V-Ray 4 is still a long way off, I hope it will be done before that for sure

Thank you Vlado (and dev team)!!! That's exactly what we wish to have for a long time at our 3d department. As we have very heavy 3d scenes and need to make test-renderings a lot, this would be an AWESOME feature to have!!!
Please make this a top 5 issue on your list!

          Thank you!
