  • Complex IOR and/or VRay RT GPU Falloff Curve Reflection slot support

Is there any way we can get something like this? VRay only calculates the simple parts of Fresnel's equations, basically for materials that transmit light, and not the other parts for metals, plastics, etc.

I have tried on the newest VRay 3.1 RT and still no support for the falloff curve. Is there any way to implement falloff support for GPU RT for the K parts of the equations? I use it religiously on VRay Adv.

    Thank you for reading.

We actually implemented this already for the next SP. I can get you a build to test, if you like.

Thank you, Vlado. That would be great. I could actually use it right now, but it is at your leisure.

This new 3.1 is SICK. Great job. Thank you so much!

Edit: SP1? That was so January, dude! It's all about that falloff now!

Vlado you can't drop bombs like that. Almost had a heart attack.

Ha. Now I want a pinup falloff calendar for 2015. ;P
          Cheers,

Hehe relax, the next SP is still some months away, it will be more related to 3ds Max 2016, although there will be some new things as well.

So if you want to check out the falloff thingy, please email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com and I'll try to get you a build.

            Best regards,
            Vlado

Hey, Vlado. Just wondering if that test build will support a VRayCompTex or Max Composite Texture with the falloff and an image as inputs.

I can't wait to check it out. Thank you.
