Does the cheat of using the composite texture and offset work?

nope, it work with the other dubdiv method , 3d and subdiv but not with the 2d mode.,... I don't know why it's takes so long to implement in max...... while they have it from day one I think in Maya..

nvm I didn't see 2d displacement there in the topic. Well why not use 3d?

2d mode is crisper for fine detail on faces for some reason!

I think the displacement could use a little lover overall, especially considering mapping channels and such!
            Software:
            Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
            3ds Max 2016 SP4
            V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

            Hardware:
            Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)

good to know, but when Vlado? I have a project that requires 2d displace to work with UDIM .. and also, BTW, I've installed vray 3.3 the latest release , I saw that you fixed the sss in raytrace mode when an object interact with it ( it was becoming green.. ) but I did a test and if I use an other sss mtl in raytrace mode crossing my main object with the sss in raytrace, the other object get the greenish bug.. but not the main object... when can we have a sort of prepass rate to blend these togheter ?

There won't be a prepass. Select both objects, open the V-Ray Object Properties dialog and set their "Raytraced SSS ID" parameter to some positive integer (like 1 or 2). It is important that both objects have the same ID (different from 0).

                    Best regards,
                    Vlado

Unfortunately not yet, but I will try to bump the priority of this implementation up.
