Maxscript access to VRayMatMtl?

I asking because I want to script a converter for VrayMatMtl to VRayMtl

Sure - You're going to mainly be dealing with text, it pretty much looks like an xml file so the first thing to do would be look at writing a function that can read one of the blocks of tags that every parameter has commonly and then pull out the useful bits of info.
