  • "Diffuse amount" in vray object properties

In the Vray object properties dialog you can adjust how much reflection, refraction, and GI affects an object. Can we get a diffuse amount in there too? Or can you already accomplish this with another method?

Can you explain more what you are trying to achieve? What should happen if that Diffuse amount parameter is zero? Maybe you can achieve what you want by setting the diffuse color of the materials to black and then decrease the diffuse amount from 100 to some lower number.

I was just wanting more control. I remember being able to do it in Arnold (I think it was spec/diffuse/gi). I suppose I could take down the output of the diffuse map. It was nice to have it in one spot though.

edit: to answer your question, if the diffuse slot was zero I suppose the object would be black, but I wouldn't get that extreme. I'd only bump it down a few points for that final tweak.

This is already possible via Diffuse Amount like Alex_M pointed out parameter but it is not supported as a global property yet:

That will work, thanks. What program is that running Vray? I've never seen that ui before.

The UI is from Maya, I didn't notice this is not a Maya section of the forums.
The same thing is achievable in 3DSMax via the Diffuse parameter under the Maps section of V-Ray Material:
