  • Render Pass like MentalRay 3.x

    Render pass will be appreciated. I test it with MentalRay on max 7 and it's very cool to create some passes and after reassemble in finale image with automatic Z-compositing.

      soory for my poor english

      I will try to explain..

      In max 7 and Mentalray you can render a scene with objects A,B and C, save it like a pass 1 (.mrimg) . Hide these objects, render new objects D,E, save it in pass 2, etc.. etc....

      After you can render a finale image with pass 1, pass 2, etc.... in ONE image and the z-composition is applied without need to edit under shake or combustion. The rendered image is render in VFB of max.

      With this feature, you can change any one object in your scene without need to rerender all scene but only the pass where objects are in, or a new pass added with other passes you need.

      It very appreciate when you have big size image.

        Now i understand. It wasnt your english, it was my ignorance to the process. Would be nice to have, I dont have any idea how this gets implemented. I have to do this similar thing before, but I did it in a few different steps and used photoshop.
