  • Blender 4.1.1 fresh installation + Vray4Blender nightly "_165": addon not loaded

    As title.
I've tried to do a fresh Blender 4.1.1 installation and then the today nightly(2024-07-11) "_165install.zip".
    As installation everything seems fine.
If I look at the "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\4.1\scripts\addons" i can see the "vray_blender" folder with the files inside.
But, when I run Blender, I can't see Vray in the addons list in the preferences... I can't see it as render engine and in the console window I can't see the Vray message you have in the installation video you provided.

    How can I solve this?
    Where should I investigate?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey bardo

Out of anything I didn't expect this to happen. Can you please try to start Blender from "blender.exe"? This will make the terminal window persistent during the blender session and you can check if there is a warning or an error related to the V-Ray plugin. I'll try setting up Blender and V-Ray in a clean environment on my end and check if something isn't missing.

I've tried as suggested but nothing.
This is what I've as soon as Blender started.

Is it a portable or a regular installation?

Here is a ".cmd" file that you need to place inside your blender directory where blender.exe is located. If you start Blender by using the cmd file it will output a bunch of log files inside "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\blender\debug _logs\".
Can you please run the ".cmd" file to start Blender and then after you close the app and V-Ray is still not loading, please share the contents of the "debug_logs" folder, so we can check the logs and see if we can track the issue.

        Link to ".cmd" file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i1x...usp=drive_link

        Thank you!

Oh....I'm so sorry Ivan.. I was wrong.. Vray loaded correctly.
          It was my fault as:
          1. I was thinking that Vray will be available as soon as I've installed like I see in your video but instead I had to activate it. It was my error as actually I think that there isn't any addon that it's activated by itself.
          2. Searching Vray inside the addon in the preferences...I was writing "vray" and not "v-ray". You did correctly in your video but I've ignored this detail...

Sorry again for this false alarm.
