  • VrayNoise: CPU vs GPU = different results

is it expected that VrayNoise outputs a different noise texture if I'm using CPU or GPU?

    GPU

Actually, looking better to these images, it seems that also the VrayBitmap on the mountains has some problem.
Probably something related to mipmapping? Or is missing UVs?

Hi bardo, this is very odd. When I attempt to replicate this issue in a simple scene, I'm unable to observe the same behavior.

Given that you've used the terrain scene as an example for multiple reports now, it would be best if you could compress it, pack the bitmaps, and attach it here. This way, I’ll be able to investigate what’s causing all four of your reported issues.

Meanwhile I prepare the scene, as actually it's not so complex, the only "strange" thing I'm thinking about it it's that the terrain it's quite wide...anyay, I'll prepare the scene and I'll attach here.

        Hi,
        here my scene.
I've cleared it when I've switched to Vray7 and, trying to avoid overlapping issues, I've cleaned a little bit.
        As attached the file.

Tried with latest beta (the one released for the public beta) and this issue is still present.

vray GPU does not seem to recognise tiled uv maps, only the cpu version does. it seeemingly also ignores second uv channels

Uhmm...I'm quite sure it's the reverse.
At least, I'm sure that the UV's of the mountains is tiled many times as I do by myself.

yes if you manually tiled them using the uv editor, but doing it on the uv mapping node does not work currently. if you have 2 uv channels, it only recognises 1 of them . its been documented anyway, soI am not going to argue about it
