  • Vray Beta doesn't seem to work with Blender 4.2 LTS

I installed Blender 4.2 LTS and tried enabling the V-Ray Addon and got this error. Seems like it should be an easy fix though.

Hi, thanks for reporting this. There should be an error message with more info in the console window (Window -> Toggle System Console from the main menu). Could you copy or make a screenshot of that?

For me the addon started to be visible only after adding a blender_manifest.toml file. This file seems to be missing in the current V-Ray for Blender setup.

After following all the installation steps, Vray does not show up inside blender as an Addon. I have checked inside the local blender folder and I can see that Vray is now there, but inside of the blender UI, in edit > preferences > adons, vray does not show up as an option:

Its "V-Ray", "V-" is also enough.

Okay I got it to work, only by uninstalling Blender, and then re-installing.

kitae_kim2 Thanks for the logs. Could you please check whether you have the following entries in Keymap preferences? We register V-Ray's keyboard shortcuts in this section and rely on it being there.

The Keymap is present for me, but I'm using another custom Keymap as my default, turning it off seems to allow me to use the Addon!

I'm seeing an error message when I try to activate the V-Ray add-on (see attached). I'm using Blender 4.2 LTS, Windows 10.

                          Report: Error
‘bpy_prop_collection[key]: “Screen” not found’ message was resolved by uninstalling Blender 4.2.3LTS and doing a clean install. So everything seems to be working now.

This can seemingly be avoided by changing the keymap in the menu, enabling the addon then changing your keymap back.

Did you do anything else diffrent? I still can't see it in the add-ons section
