Thanks goes to Bertrand Benoit for the splash!

    IMPORTANT:
    - Non-latin characters in names are not supported at all! This is smth like not implemented python API feature as someone in IRC told me. (this will raise error like this: "UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf8' codec can't decode bytes in position 7-8: unexpected end of data")
    - Read this warning!

Ha! Nice one. Will test, but 2.5 is still very unstable on my mac. Nice to see BB's furniture on the front.

    Thank you so much Andrey!!!!!!!

            Re: V-Ray/Blender 2.5 Build

I guess I'm just to stupid but I hope you will help me to install this build.

            What I did:
            Downloaded and installed "vrayblender-2.5-win32.exe".
Added "C:\Maya\bin" (this is where my vray.exe is) to my "PATH" Systemvariable (see screenshot_1).

Then I was searching for this scriptpath, but there is no script path ! See screenshot_2.

...and I have no idea what the patch is for and how I can install it ?

Anyway I tried to start the build but it crashed with the errormessage in screenshot_3.
I'm running Win XP Pro SP3.

Can anybody help me please ?

            Thanks
            Alain

              Re: V-Ray/Blender 2.5 Build

@Alain, there is an option in installer where to install scripts. You should choose "Use the installation directory" (post updated). Also check if Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package is installed.

                Re: V-Ray/Blender 2.5 Build

@Alain, I had that same problem and When I installed the right python version it worked. When you try
to open blender, it also opens a smaller window. And it usually says what's wrong.

My issue is that when I apply a material it surface goes to black. Without a material it has basic grey surface.
here is a picture about terminal. It seems that this is the cause of the error.

                  Re: V-Ray/Blender 2.5 Build

@haikalle, this is because your V-Ray doesn't support BRDFVRayMtl (I guess you are using V-Ray For Maya Demo). This is a BRDF which completely behaves as 3dsmax/Maya V-Ray material. In 2.49 exporter a little different BRDF system is used.

                    Thanks it works now
It was because of the scriptdirectory. I had to choose the option "use installation directory".

I'm not using a demo. I'm using Vray Standalone latest nigthlybuild (5, march 2010).

You are right. Thanks. I had both installed on my computer. When I deleted Vray maya now it takes standalone to blender.
Now I just have error:Could not obtain a license (0) I think that I have to send that long serial number to Chaosgroup to have license number to
get vrlserver to work. Hope so.

Well my system is too new for your build, so I have to build it on my own. What version of Blender 2.5 are you using? 2.5 Alpha 0/1/2 or svn?
