      Re: vb25 - Material Library

Hi. I would like to add two brick wall materials. One made by me, and one from http://www.vray-materials.de
I hope you will find them useful. If I had some time I hope to make some more materials.

          Re: vb25 - Material Library

          Thanks for these materials bmt.
If I download a material from V-Ray-materials.de, I need to have VRay for 3DS Max in order to see the material, I can't import it, is that correct?

Mat files are 3ds max materials - you can't import them to blender. If you are asking about 3ds max - yes you need vray for max installed.

looks nice, but can't open can't render them in VB 2.62 on OSX.
is it an old scene format for 2.49 maybe?

                Hi guys.
This one is based on the Ceramica Porosa material by Trazart from www.vray-materials.de

                    Re: vb25 - Material Library

                    Hello guys.
Nice work. Here is my contribution, 15 accurate metals. Some aren't much accurate physically because It's hard to have physically accurate values and a good looking material, so the preference was to make it look good to the eye, not on the numbers. However, they are quite correct and they even have maps to simulate contamination and different alloys like Cobalt+Gold and Silver+Gold.

EDIT: Sorry I didn't use the file, but it would be a pain to have the materials in different files, and they are correctly named, so you can just download my file and append the materials in your scene.

                    Left-Right, Top-Bottom:
                    Stainless Steel
                    Copper
                    Chrome (Alloy)
                    Bronze
                    Silver (Sterling)
                    Platinum
                    White Gold
                    Cheap Green Gold
                    "Pure" Gold (22k)
                    Cheap Gold
                    Black Gold
                    Tungsten Carbide
                    Rhodium
                    Titanium
                    Anodized Titanium (Commom)
