MacPro and with classic material. I just load a big 6k texture (15mb) and put mipmap to none and it crashes 90% of the times. So it crashes while i editing the material and not when i rendering. I have not the time to make more tests. I already downgraded and the crashes are gone. Will have to test it later with a new release again…

i'm now working (editing materials) an hour in an old vray 3 file without any crashes (VRAY 52001 220214). same file i worked yesterday with VRAY 52002 220402 which gave me crashes every 10min. But i could reproduce the crashes even in a new file. So i dont know exactly what it ist, but editing materials is much more stable here in the old build

Hi, is it possible that you are hitting the MacOS file limit problem (some more details on the problem here). Can you check if rising the limit (with the command I linked in the post) solves the issue?

no i already use the terminal command... i know this problem

this would also affect the old build.. but once again. i dont have the crashes when im using the old build.. not a single crash this morning.
yesterday i had 20-30 crashes with the new build and im doing the same work.

i can test it again later when i have less work. i thougt perhaps some other person has noticed some instability with the new builds. seems im the only one so far

Could you check your "_bugreports" directory in your preferences directory for crash dumps and bug reports. Sending us one of those might also help troubleshoot the problem.

Yes i have similar problems with large material previews. C4D just closes without a crash. When Material Previews are turned off everthing works normal. But i have theses crashes for several weeks now.

have you testet this build: VRAY 52001 220214. runs very stable here, even when edit materials with many layers and big textures. i again testet the new 52003 from today and got a crash when i opened an old vray 3.7 file (while vray updated the material previews). downgraded to 52001 220214 and opened the same file without a crash.

newest os and r25. i dont upgrade every build. so i only testet this builds:
52001 220214 - very stable
52002 220402 - many crashes when updating materials
52003 220406 - many crashes when updating materials

especialy when i opening old vray 3.7 files but sometimes also in new files while editing materials with big textures.
Sorry i have not much more time for testing.

I have tested those builds but unfortunately, I couldn't replicate the crashes on my end. Can you navigate to your preference folder (you can access it by going to Edit> Preferences> Open Preferences Folder..) and send us any bug reports or dump files, located in the _bugreports folder?

Also, if you have the time to test it, it would be very helpful if you can test which is the build from our stable builds, where the issue first appears.

looks promising. The old vray 3.7 file i can open with the newest build without a crash (was not possible with the older 52002 and 52003 builds). also editing big materials until now without crashes. thanks
