    Hey everyone,
I was able to reproduce this on my end and will forward this to the devs for fixing. We will update the thread when it's fixed. Thank you for your understanding and feedback.

        Hi Aleksandar,
Thanks for the update! Yes this issue appears to be fixed when rendering locally, however when using distributed rendering, the render hosts will still hang when trying to load .tx assets. (using the vray render server) Thanks!

          Hey Guys,

Glad I'm not the only one...

Just wanted to add that I also have the same issue, reported to service with scene. They have reproduced the issue and working on solving it.

Same issue here with the latest everything. I haven't checked to see if clearing the .tx files solves yet, but it shuts down the whole show right after the 10th frame is saved.... poof. gone.

Edit: It's the .tx files from cosmos. There was a single concrete material in the scene from cosmos using about 4 .tx files in texture slots. After removing that material and .tx assets from the scene it just passed the 10 frame mark and still going.

            Merry Xmas

Edit: didn’t realize this is the c4d thread… my encounter with this is in 3ds max 2024

Pumped out about 60 frames or so with .tx files removed then shut down again. Trying again using compressed bitmaps. Want to say it’s only pulling about 12gb from 24gb 3090rtx without compressing bitmaps

Updated to the latest max 2024 build… thought it already was on that. Rendered about 15 frames then it hung on light cache for about an hour on one frame. Killed it and switched to brute force. Now about 100 frames in and still going… dunno

                    Dear rusteberg, hello.

Please explain the issue that you are experiencing in V-Ray for 3dsMax forum section or via ticket.
There the dedicated colleagues will be able to help you.
If it is related to a specific scene, best will be to share it with us (packed by using File > Archive) via our contact form.
Please choose 3D and Rendering Help under Request Type.

The discussed here is related to GPU rendering and it was logged with VC4D-1553 number in our system.
Please keep this fact in mind, because if you are seeing program hanging with CPU rendering - the circumstances will be different and will require a separate investigation.

Best regards and happy last days of 2023,
                    TS
