multimatte and material id dont work with staked materials

create 2 materials and put it on an object (the second material in additive mode)
set multimatte ID in the material options.

both the multimatte layer and the material id layer appears black.
if i only put 1 material on the object it works like it shoud.
Is this a known limitation?

in your example the materials on top are not in additive mode. as soon as i tick on the "additive mode" and delete all the spheres out of the exclude list its rendering black.

the blue mat has mat id 1 and the red material has mat id 2.
multimatte ignores the materials if i add them both to an object in additive mode.

This is a known bug (bug ID: VC4D-1210) that has previously been discussed here on the forum in this and this thread. The bug has been reported to our developers and I will notify you as soon as we have any updates.

As I also mentioned in this thread, with the release of V-Ray 6 for Cinema4D, Update 1 this issue (bug ID: VC4D-1210) has been fixed, along with many other bug fixes and new features.
