  • Stacked Material (decal) Issue

    Hi all,

I've got a scene with a running track which I've created the base material for. I've also created a separate material with an alpha to use for the track lines.
The first track line – which I've projected flat – works as expected, but when I duplicate that material in the layer stack the one underneath doesn't show up, even with add material checked.
I'm pretty sure this is the workflow i've always been using to stack materials, so if anyone could help me see where I'm going wrong I'd be really grateful. Hopefully it's not some schoolboy error!

    Here's the scene and textures:

    Hello KernitTheFont,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

It seems to be a bug on our end and I have reported it to our developers for fixing (bug ID: VC4D-1533). I will let you know once we have more information on the matter. Thanks.

Great, thanks Aleksander. I had to go with a massive track texture in the end to get it out the door, rather than the light modular approach.

        Hello KernitTheFont,

A workaround to this issue would be to copy the material and apply it as a new material to the object. The other option is to simply use V-Ray Decal, which we introduced with V-Ray 6 for Cinema4D, beta. You can find more information about V-Ray Decal here.
