I've been on a very tedious journey for the last month or two looking for a robust animation pipeline. I did a shot that took 12 days to render local. It took a few hundred hours but didn't have farm access and didn't want to spend on it so that's that. I figured if I had any issues I could use Render Mask like I have in Max. My main issue is that I used a 2-sided material for the curtains and they flicker. I asked for help and sent over the geo but Boyan was more interested in fucking around and peacing out, then helping. Usually he's cool and I wouldn't care but I pay for this. Im wondering if anyone else could offer a solution; honestly I've gotten a lot of help from users so thank you in advance if you have any ideas.
Anyhow, I abandoned vray for corona in hopes of it being a better solution but its too incomplete for animation and support is non existent. So i'm back to troubleshooting this shot and Im just trying to get through it. I was hoping to use render mask(it also has issues; can't render through refraction, bug with opacity materials) to comp in new curtains. I tried opacity maps and refractive material, they look pretty bad and wont comp cleanly. I either need a solution that will give me Non-Flicker curtains or I have to re-render the whole sequence.
I've already fixed the Multisubtex flickering and there is a chair that flickers that had co-planar faces. Now it's just the curtains. I tripped checked for z-fighting in my scene file and xref and its clean. GI is brute force.
