Hi 123456_ Thank you for reporting this. I have logged it into our system [VC4D-2634] to be further investigated.

      I'm also having this issue. I have a RTX4090.

To help troubleshoot: it only does this in Progressive mode, not bucket mode. Both in RTX and CUDA mode.

It also does the same when 'Use system memory for Textures' is ticked.

Happens with both on the current Nvidia drivers and the previous 'verified' drivers.

Hi 123456_ I have discussed this with the Devs and there is some info to share. Please, note that the “On demand mip-mapping” option was hidden in VMax and VMaya, and remained visible in VC4D by mistake. For now there are no plans of fixing this.

            Hi viktor_angelov

Does this mean that this feature is deprecated or going o be discontinued? I tested the on demand mip mapping option and the texture worked fine on under v-ray gpu rtx. with the last vray 6 version and c4d 2024.5.1.
This mip-mapping option looks like a really good optimization option for large scenes. will there be an alternative for this?

              Hi everyone,

On-Demand mipmapping is discontinued because of many issues, particularly bump mapping and normal mapping where they would look different. We stopped investing into this feature as there are better replacements, the first one is "Use System Memory for Textures" this option is very helpful if you are using a lot of textures by moving them to system memory.
The second option is Compressed Textures, it reduces GPU memory usage to half on average, but it slows down Time-To-First-Pixel

If your scene is having issues with "Use System Memory for Textures, rendering black. I will see what is going on, I will update the thread shortly

              Best,
              Muhammed
